Overview

At present, radiology is one of the most popular and widely used modern medical technologies available. This technology is needed for diagnosis, tracking the progress of the disease, and treatment as well. The need for educated and professional radiology technologists in hospitals, clinics, and physicians’ offices is increasing rapidly. With the advancement of technology, the field of radiology will continue to show higher than average job growth into the future. After completing a degree in this field, one can become a Radiology Technologist, Radiology Technician, Ultrasound Technologist, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, MRI/CAT Scan Technologist, etc.

This programme will give students insights through a meticulously structured programme to impart in-depth advance knowledge of imaging methodologies and principles. The curriculum has been designed to meet the growing needs of professionals in the fields of clinical radiology, radiation safety, image processing technology, imaging modalities, etc. With an increasing demand for trained and qualified professionals, the field's scope is expanding.

Eligibility

FOR INDIAN STUDENTS

1) He/she has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2), or equivalent examination recognized by any Indian University or a duly constituted Board with pass marks (50%) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics/ Radiology Technology

OR

1) Diploma in relevant stream after completing 12th class/ 10 +2 of CBSE or equivalent with minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately.

AND

2) The candidate should be at the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will be completing the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the first year.

FOR NRI/PIO/FN STUDENTS

 1) A candidate in any of these categories shall have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the first year.

2) He/she must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Life Sciences and English (and desirably Mathematics) at the CBSE, ISC, HSC or an equivalent examination. In the case of a student from any school that follows the American system of education, the candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and desirably Mathematics) at AP' (Advanced Placement) level and must have minimum 'C' grade in these subjects.

 3) In the case of students passing Cambridge International Examination (CIE) the candidate should have passed Physics, Chemistry and Biology at “Advanced” level along with English at “Advanced Subsidiary” (AS) level.
  • An NRI is a person who is not a resident or who is not ordinarily resident. A person is treated as not ordinarily resident (i) if he/she has been resident in India for less than 182 days in the year preceding the date of application; or (ii) If he/she has been in India for less than 365 days during the four years immediately preceding date of application.
  • A PIO is a person having foreign citizenship (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) within NRI status, but who holds a foreign passport at the time of sending application or at the time of consideration of admission and during the period of his study and whose one / both parents or anyone/both grandparents is (or was) / are (or were) citizen(s) of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India or Section 2(b) of Citizenship Act 1955 (Act No. 57 of 1955).
  • An FN is a person having citizenship of a foreign country and not having the status NRI and/ or PIO.

Respiratory Care Technology (RCT) / B.Sc. Physician Assistant (PA) / B.Sc. Emergency and Critical Care Technology (ECCT))

Lateral entry to second year (third semester) onwards for candidates who have passed diploma programme from Govt. boards and recognized by State/Central University, fulfilling the conditions specified. These students will be eligible to take admission on lateral entry system only if the same subjects have been studied at diploma level and as per the decision of the university based on the review.

  • Students completing 1 year Diploma after 10+2: Admission to 3rd Semester.
Provision for Lateral Exit

(For B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) / B.Sc. Respiratory Care Technology (RCT) / B.Sc. Physician Assistant (PA) / B.Sc. Emergency and Critical Care Technology (ECCT))

  • After completion of 4th Semester – Certificate
  • After completion of 5th Semester – Diploma
  • After completion of 6th Semester – Degree
  • After completion of 8th Semester – Degree with Honours
